Marple B gained a well-earned drawn match against a strong Altrincham A side. To my right, Ben had a dramatic win in 9 moves using the Budapest gambit. His opponent only made 3 bad moves, which is a large percentage out of 9! While to my left Terry's opponent was dropping pieces regularly. Every time I looked up Terry was another piece up, The last time I looked his opponent's Queen was under threat and he had give up a fourth minor piece to save his queen! Meanwhile I was losing slowly with the white pieces, I got back into it but it cost me too much time, and I lost to a potential back rank mate. I saw very little of the other games and so cannot comment on them.
